Subaru Legacy Wagon
The new 2001 Subaru
Legacy Wagon is a highly versatile vehicle with sport utility
characteristics and high-end luxuries. For those with lifestyles
that require a vehicle with multi-tasking capabilities, this
is the perfect choice for darting around from work to school
and off to soccer practice and then away to the cottage -
and everything in between!
Two models are
offered this year, the Subaru Legacy L Wagon and the Subaru
Legacy GT Wagon, both with four doors and a seating capacity
of five passengers.
Under the hood,
the Subaru Legacy Wagon sports a four-cylinder engine with
SOHC and 165 horsepower for excellent highway driving and
a relaxed and smooth drive on city streets as well. Standard
transmission is five-speed manual, with optional automatic
transmission for those who prefer it.
One of the interesting
aspects of the Subaru Legacy Wagon is the four-wheel full-time
drive on both models for negotiating adverse weather conditions
and tougher roads.
Subaru’s safety
features include ABS brakes for optimum control while braking
suddenly and for times when you are stopping on slippery terrain.
As well, each model is equipped with a driver depowered air
bag, passenger depowered air bag, and both front and rear
head restraints. A rear wiper keeps the back window clear
for a more complete scope of vision.
The Subaru Legacy
GT Wagon has been fitted with front fog lights for maximum
visibility, and is available as an option on the Legacy L
Wagon. For the prevention of mishaps with younger travelers,
all vehicles have child safety locks installed.
Standard luxuries
range from air conditioning to cruise/speed control, power
door locks, dual power mirrors, and power windows. The rear
seat conveniently folds down to accommodate extra luggage
and equipment, especially longer items that don’t normally
fit.
Options include
a theft deterrent system and an AM/FM stereo with CD player.
The Subaru Legacy GT Wagon adds to the package the standards
of limited slip differential, and handy keyless entry system,
and the ambience of a moonroof/sunroof.
