2002 Acura RSX
Sporty and sophisticated, the new 2002 Acura RSX Coupe
line up mounts an impressive challenge to the competition.
Two models are offered, the 2002 Acura RSX Coupe and
Acura RSX Type S Coupe, each with two doors and a seating
capacity of four passengers. Priced reasonably, the
Acura RSX Coupe has an aerodynamic, sporty look on the
outside and luxuries that do its upscale appearance
justice.
Safety specifications for the base model Acura RSX
Coupe include the basics of a driver depowered air bag,
passenger depowered air bag, and side impact air bags.
Traction control is also a standard safety feature.
Performance is one of the areas where the RSX Coupe
really stands out. Under the hood is a four-cylinder
engine with variable timing DOHC, electronic fuel injection
system, and 160 horsepower. Standard transmission is
a quick-shifting five-speed manual, with automatic transmission
available as an option.
Luxuries are also a convincing lure for the RSX Coupe.
Comforts and conveniences include air conditioning,
power door locks, power windows, dual power mirrors,
and an AM/FM stereo with CD player. A handy keyless
entry system comes as a standard, as do a theft deterrent
system and a folding rear seat to stow away an overflow
of luggage and equipment.
The list of luxuries continues with high-grain leather
seating and a moonroof/sunroof. Along with a flurry
of other functional and aesthetic features, the entry-level
RSX Coupe doesnt leave much more to be desired.
Really the only area that might possibly be upgraded
is the engine. The RSX Type S Coupe does just that,
adding a four-cylinder engine with variable timing DOHC
that pumps out 200 horsepower. For the driving pleasure
of performance enthusiasts, the standard transmission
is six-speed manual. Automatic transmission is an option.
