2002 Audi A4 S4:
At the highest end of the 2002 Audi A4 line up is a
most sophisticated vehicle that places emphasis not
only on extraordinary comforts and conveniences, but
has stellar performance capabilities as well. Enter
the newly designed Audi A4 S4 Sedan, a tribute to everything
that is good in a car.
Its bi-turbo, 2.7-litre, six-cylinder engine that packs
a dual overhead camshaft, variable-timing intake valve,
258 lbs-ft of torque, and 250 horsepower define the
four-door Audi A4 S4 Sedan’s performance. Choose
from six-speed manual transmission (rated at 17/24 mpg
city/hwy) or five-speed automatic transmission.
The Audi A4 S4 Sedan is equipped with sturdy permanent
all-wheel drive with electronic differential locks,
enhancing its power and control in adverse conditions.
The effect is enhanced with the addition of performance
tires and seventeen-inch six-spoke cast alloy wheels.
Jump inside and you’ll be greeted with a leather-wrapped
three-spoke sport steering wheel, leather-wrapped hand
brake lever and gearshift knob, wood trim details, and
opulent leather seating. The seating capacity is five
passengers, with plenty of room to spare.
Standard luxuries include power windows, power door
locks (heated on the driver’s side), heated dual
power mirrors, and a premium AM/FM stereo with CD player
and eight speakers for a crisp sound. The rear seat
conveniently folds down to increase cargo space, and
the front sports seats are ten-way power adjustable.
Other comforts include automatic climate control with
sun sensor and an air filter, plus a theft deterrent
alarm with interior motion sensors, and a handy remote
keyless entry system.
Turning now to safety, the Audi A4 S4 Sedan is built
with driver and passenger depowered air bags, side head
protection air bags, front chest side air bags, and
child safety locks and seat tethers in the rear. Also
included are front and rear head restraints, and a first
aid kit stowed away in the rear armrest.
Each vehicle is also equipped with ABS brakes with
electronic rear brake pressure regulation for maximum
control in emergency situations.
Three packages add some important extras; the Cold
Weather Package includes heated front seats and a ski
bag, while the Premium package adds a Homelink transmitter,
auto-dimming mirrors, and a glass sunroof. The S4 Sport
Trim Package has special leather upholstery, and aluminum
beltline and housing for mirrors.
