2002 BMW 325 Sport Wagon Overview

While sport utility vehicles have increased in popularity, you can’t deny the sensibility and practicality of a wagon. Not all of us want to drive a vehicle that looks and feels more like a truck. BMW introduces the new 2002 325 Sport Wagon with plenty of luxury combined with good old BMW quality and engineering.

So let’s take a good look at what the two models have to offer. Both the BMW 325i Sport Wagon and BMW 325xi Sport Wagon have four doors and a handy rear door for easy loading and unloading of luggage and other family or work-related items. There’s a lot of room back there. The seating area is also spacious and can accommodate five passengers.

The rear wheel drive BMW 325i Sport Sedan features an impressive line up of performance specifications. The 2.5-litre engine has six cylinders, DOHC, variable valve timing, and 184 horsepower. Five-speed manual transmission is the standard, with automatic transmission available as an option. The sport suspension is finely calibrated to produce a more precise ride and sharp cornering.

Each BMW 325i Sport Wagon is equipped with a driver depowered air bag, passenger depowered air bag, side impact air bags, and both front and rear head restraints. Along with anti-roll bars, other standards include ABS brakes, child safety locks, front fog lights, dynamic brake control, and stability control including all-season traction.

Upon an impact, a sensor automatically unlocks all the doors and turns on the hazard lights. The fuel is also cut off when an air bag deploys.

Luxuries and conveniences include a retractable vertical cargo net and horizontal cargo cover, cruise control, automatic climate control, and an AM/FM stereo with CD player. As well, the BMW 325i Sport Wagon is built with power door locks, dual power mirrors, and power windows.

The leatherette interior can be upgraded to fine leather, and a power moonroof/sunroof are available as packages. The rear seats fold down to create even more storage space, and the front seats are six-way adjustable. In some of the subsequent packages, you get heated front seats, six-way power seats, or ten-way adjustable sports seats.

The 2002 BMW 325xi AWD Sport Wagon takes the original package and adds four-wheel full-time drive, seventeen-inch alloy wheels, and ten-way adjustable front sport seats. The leather-wrapped steering wheel has four spokes. Cruise control, audio, and accessory phone controls are all mounted on the steering wheel for your convenience.
