2002 BMW M Roadster Overview

Aerodynamically styled and ready for some serious top-down action, the new 2002 BMW Roadster Convertible challenges the competition with an edge for brilliant engineering and traditional quality of build.

Under the hood, the BMW Roadster is ready to go with six electronically controlled individual throttles, and a 3.2L DOHC 24-valve six-cylinder engine. Other specifications include variable valve timing, distibutorless electronic ignition, and cylinder-specific knock control.

Each BMW Roadster hits the mark at 315 horsepower, five-speed manual transmission, seventeen-inch alloy wheels and performance tires, so pull down your top and head for the nearest winding road!

As for luxuries, the interior is filled to the brim with items such as an anti-theft AM/FM stereo with cassette player and nine speakers; a CD player is optional. Premium-grade leather seating, heated power front seats, and leather steering wheel and detailing wrap you in comfort and style.

For those of you in colder climes, the outside mirrors, power door locks, and windshield washer jets are all heated to prevent freezing.

Some of the cosmetic features listed are a front spoiler, wraparound skirts, and ground effects. Other comforts and conveniences include a keyless entry system, air conditioning, power windows, cruise control, and a fully lined soft top round out just a few examples of the many features. A hard convertible top is available as an option.

As for safety, the BMW Roadster is equipped with limited slip differential, tire pressure monitoring system, and finely calibrated ABS brakes. The standards continue with anti-roll bars, driver depowered air bag, side impact air bags, and a passenger depowered air bag.

A crash sensor flips on the hazard lights and unlocks each door in the event of an impact. Finally, a theft deterrent system prevents the ignition from being started without the key.

Altogether, the entire package is impressive not only for the numerous standards outlined here, but the many “little” things that make a big difference in your everyday driving experience.
