2002 Buick Regal:
Add another line up of classy, stylish sedans to Buicks
list of elegant vehicles this year. The 2002 Buick Regal
Sedan, known to accelerate well and minimize noise,
is available in two models - Buick Regal 4-Door LS Sedan
and Buick Regal 4-Door GS Sedan. The seating capacity
in each vehicle is five passengers, and the styling
is true to Buicks traditional grown up
look and feel, although its performance features are
geared towards attracting the younger set.
We begin by exploring the Buick Regal LS Sedan model
first, with body-colored side moldings, side jacketing,
flush door handles, lower body side jacketing, and horizontal
grille. The vehicle is equipped with fog lamps, and
the dual body-colored folding power mirrors are heated
on the driver side.
Items that are unique to this model alone include solar
tinted windshield and rear window, Soft-ray tinted side
windows, and two-speed windshield wipers with variable
delay. To decrease road noise, the wheelhouses are lined.
Inside the Buick Regal LS Sedan are cloth reclining
bucket seats with six-way power driver seat up front,
while in the rear is a split-folding theater seat. Both
the gearshift knob and steering wheel are wrapped in
leather. The climate controls include dual zone air
conditioning and an air filtration system.
Other features listed are a tire inflation monitor,
power trunk release, remote keyless entry, theft deterrent
system, and cruise control. The windows and door locks
are both power operated, and the AM/FM stereo with CD
player comes with a six-speaker sound system and acoustical
insulation package. Handy items range from front and
rear door map pockets to a delayed illuminated entry
with theater dimming.
The Buick Regal LS Sedan is equipped with a 3.8L six-cylinder
engine with 200 horsepower. Transmission is four-speed
automatic with overdrive, drive type is front wheel,
and the vehicle is fitted with all-season SBR tires.
The fuel economy rating is recorded at 20/30 (city/hwy).
Items of interest include starter grind protection,
magnetic variable-effort power rack and pinion steering,
and front and rear disc brakes.
Safety features include ABS brakes, driver air bag,
passenger air bag, child safety locks, and dual note
horn. A trunk release handle has been installed in the
trunks interior to prevent mishaps. As well, traction
control is included for your peace of mind while driving
in difficult weather and road conditions.
The next model, Buick Regal GS Sedan, features upgrades
to a leather reclining bucket seats with six-way power
driver seat, and the sound system gets a boost from
the eight-speaker Monsoon sound system. The vehicle
lists among its best features the OnStar communication
system. The rear view mirror automatically dims, and
a trunk convenience net has been added to the package.
Under the hood, the engine has been upgraded to a 3.8L
six-cylinder supercharged engine with 240 horsepower,
and HD four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.
Fuel economy only drops slightly to 18/28 (city/hwy).
