Dodge Dakota reviews and buying guide.
2002 Dodge Dakota
Power, Roominess and
Value Keep 2002 Dodge Dakota The Standard Among Compact
Pickups.... For compact pickup buyers, versatility
is king. One day it needs to be a people hauler. The
next day, a workhorse. And the next day, a showpiece.
Only one pickup satisfies the varying requirements of
the demanding compact buyer: Dodge Dakota.
With its bold design,
best-in-class power and capability, wide range of model
and engine choices, car-like ride-and-handling and unique
versatility of the four-door Quad Cab model, the
2002 Dodge Dakota wears the crown in the compact segment.
For 2002, Dakota further
expands its versatility across all price classes with
the introduction of the value-priced Dakota SXT model.
This model combines a bold new look and standard features
that are uncommon for an entry-level model. With its
unique graphite bumpers, fascia, grille and fender flares
and sporty 16-inch aluminum wheels, Dakota SXT makes
a real styling statement. And with standard air conditioning
and bucket seats, its as much fun to drive as
it is to look at.
But the real statement
comes in the price. Priced at just over $17,000 including
destination, Dakota SXT will surpass all other compacts
in the value-for-content department.
WIDE RANGE OF MODEL CHOICES
MEET EVERY NEED...
The compact world changed for good with the introduction
of the Dakota Quad Cab for 2000. With its four full-size
doors, optional six-passenger seating capacity and great
towing and hauling capability, Dakota Quad Cab is the
most versatile compact pickup in the class. Its interior
is the largest among four-door compact pickups, with
the most front and rear shoulder and hip room, as well.
While designed to seat
up to three rear passengers comfortably, convenient
60/40 split rear seats can fold up together to accommodate
large objects, or individually to accommodate a combination
of people and cargo. A pull-out cupholder is packaged
conveniently under the seat, while map pockets on the
back of the front passenger seat and a package shelf
provide extra security for objects. The rear doors open
a full 90 degrees and the windows roll down all the
way, making the rear area comfortable for both long
rides and long packages.
While the cab is configured
for passenger-carrying situations there is no compromise
in cargo carrying or towing. The 5'3" bed is the
largest among four-door pickups and can handle up to
1,770 pounds of payload. Quad Cab can tow up to 6,200
pounds.
