2002 Ford Taurus
Well, the Ford Taurus Sedan has
been around for quite a few years and has made adaptations
and changes to remain popular in its highly competitive
niche. The 2002 line up offers you four different models
with varying performance, safety, and luxury features
to suit your family, individual, or work-related needs.
Each of the Ford Taurus LX Sedan,
Taurus SE Sedan, Taurus SES Sedan, and Taurus SEL Sedan
have plenty of room for five comfortable passengers,
with four doors and lots of trunk space.
Beginning with the comforts and
conveniences of the entry-level Ford Taurus LX Sedan,
each vehicle is graced with air conditioning and a theft
deterrent system. Other standards include power windows,
power door locks, and dual power outside mirrors.
As for safety, the Ford Taurus LX
Sedan is equipped with child safety locks, front head
restraints, driver side air bag, and passenger side
air bag. The passenger air bag has a cut-off capacity
for those of shorter stature or children traveling up
front. ABS brakes are available as a key option.
In the performance department, the
Ford Taurus LX Sedan features a six-cylinder engine,
center of vee camshaft, and sequential port fuel injection
system that crank out 155 horsepower and 185 lbs-ft
of torque. The fuel consumption rating is approximately
20/28 (city/hwy).
Each Taurus LX Sedan is fitted with
all-season SBR tires. Standard transmission is four-speed
automatic, and drive type is front wheel.
The Ford Taurus SE Sedan takes the
base models features and adds available packages
such as side impact air bags, traction control, and
an AM/FM stereo with CD player. Standard upgrades include
cruise control and a keyless entry system. A folding
rear seat is offered as an option.
Moving on to the third model, the
Ford Taurus SES Sedan is equipped with ABS brakes and
an optional moonroof/sunroof and leather upholstery
for a luxurious and comfortable interior finish.
At the highest end of the line up,
the Ford Taurus SEL Sedan takes all of the features
and benefits of the previous models and takes things
up a notch with a six-cylinder, DOHC engine that produces
200 lbs-ft of torque and 200 horsepower. All of this,
and the price tag remains pretty reasonable.
