2002 Lincoln Navigator Sport Utility Overview

Set to outdo the competition in every way, the new 2002 Lincoln Navigator Sport Utility Vehicle shines for its superior performance, safety, and luxury specifications. True to Lincoln tradition, the package is sophisticated and is graced with many comforts and conveniences, and packs a lot of power under the hood as well.

This year, Lincoln offers two four-door models - the Navigator Sport Utility and the Navigator 4WD Sport Utility. Both of these vehicles can easily accommodate seven passengers, making them a great choice for families and busy folks who do a lot of activities with their friends.

As mentioned above, the Lincoln Navigator Sport Utility packs a lot of punch under its hood. A remarkable 5.4-litre eight-cylinder engine with DOHC and sequential port fuel injection combine to exact 300 horsepower and 355 lbs-ft of torque. The towing capacity is 8000 lbs.

The Lincoln Navigator Sport Utility is built with rear wheel drive and is equipped with all-season SBR tires. The approximate fuel economy rating registers at 12/17 (city/hwy), and the standard transmission is four-speed automatic.

A solid line up of safety standards includes child safety locks, front fog lights, and ABS brakes for maximum control in dicey situations. Other basic safety features listed are side impact air bags, passenger depowered air bag, and a drive depowered air bag.

When it comes to luxury, the Lincoln Navigator Sport Utility is jammed with an AM/FM stereo with CD player, air conditioning, cruise control, and rich leather seating. Among the other standards are power windows, dual power outside mirrors, power door locks, and a theft deterrent system.

More comforts and conveniences on the Navigator Sport Utility include a rear wiper and defroster, limited slip differential, and a keyless entry system so you don’t have to fumble for your keys in the dark, rain, or snow anymore. A moonroof/sunroof is available as an option.

Base invoice price: $39,130

The 2002 Lincoln Navigator takes the highly impressive overall package and makes the key addition of four-wheel on-demand drive. Combined with the raw engine power and torque, it truly is one the sport utility vehicles that can aggressively negotiate serious weather conditions and tough roads and mud.
