new, Mazda has released the 2002 Mazda MP3 Limited Edition
Hatchback. For years, fans of the old 323 Hatchback
have been asking when Mazda was going to come out with
a similar vehicle. Now we have the answer, and it comes
as a pleasant surprise!
The new Mazda MP3 Limited
Edition Hatchback is really a borderline wagon. It has
ample room for five passengers, and a large storage
area in the rear that is loaded and unloaded easily.
The rear seat also folds down 60/40 to create even more
space for excess luggage and gear when required.
The Mazda MP3 also features
standards such as power windows, leather-wrapped steering
wheel and fear shift knob, aluminum foot pedals, dual
power mirrors, and dual power mirrors. Other basic items
include air conditioning, rear heating ducts, theft
deterrent system, rear spoiler, and a keyless entry
system.
The Kenwood 919 AM/FM
stereo with CD player boasts four speakers and a trunk-mounted
subwoofer. Interestingly, it is designed to play CD’s,
CD-R’s, and CD-RW’s recorded inMP3 format.
That gives you about ten hours of listening!
Performance specifications
demonstrate a strong 2.0-litre with DOHC, 140 horsepower,
and five-speed manual transmission. Automatic transmission
is available as a convenient option.
Each front wheel drive
Mazda is equipped with custom seventeen-inch alloy wheels,
sport exhaust, and sport-tuned suspension. Steering
is rack and pinion with variable power assist, while
brakes are four-wheel power-assisted disc.
In the safety department,
the Mazda MP3 Limited Edition Hatchback features child
safety locks in the rear, front and rear head restraints,
and three-point seatbelts at all seating positions.
Other safety standards are listed as a diver side air
bag, passenger side air bag, and a perimeter alarm.
