2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK Cabriolet

The stunning and sophisticated new 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK Class Cabriolet Convertible offers us three sporty top-down models, CLK320 Cabriolet Convertible, CLK430 Cabriolet Convertible, and CLK55 AMG Cabriolet Convertible. Loaded with gems of performance and luxury features, it’ll keep heads turning no matter where you go.

Mercedes-Benz has earned a reputation for well-designed and engineered luxury vehicles. The base model (if you want to call it that with all its features) is a tribute to this tradition. Under the hood is a six-cylinder engine with SOHC, sequential fuel injection, 229 lbs-ft of torque, and a serious 215 horsepower. Fuel consumption checks in at 20/28 (city/hwy). This rear wheel drive vehicle is equipped with all-season SBR tires, and the five-speed automatic transmission has a gutsy response to your demands.

As for safety, the Mercedes-Benz CLK320 Cabriolet Convertible is built with a driver depowered air bag, side impact air bags, front and rear head restraints, and a passenger depowered air bag. Also included as standards are traction control, limited slip differential, front fog lights, and a passenger air bag cut-off capability.

Basic comforts and conveniences are loaded into the package, and include air conditioning, leather upholstery and detailing, cruise control, and keyless entry system. Adding to the list are power door locks, power windows, dual power mirrors, and a theft deterrent system for peace of mind. A dealer-installed AM/FM stereo with CD player is available as an option for the CLK320 Cabriolet Convertible. And of course, you’ll enjoy the benefits of the power retractable roof.

Next in the upscale line up is the Mercedes-Benz CLK430 Cabriolet Convertible, which adds the benefits of a souped up engine. It’s upgraded to an eight-cylinder SOHC that generates a performance-lover’s 275 horsepower and 295 lbs-ft of torque, and they’ve slapped on performance SBR tires for some fine handling on the roads. So get out your driving gloves!

Base invoice price: $53,289
Base list price: $57,300

Topping off the impressive offerings for 2002 is the Mercedes-Benz CLK55 AMG Cabriolet Convertible, which takes matters even further with an incredible 342 horsepower and 376 lbs-ft of torque. There’s no question about the speed, agility, and rate of acceleration on this model. It goes from 0-60 mph in only 5.9 seconds. In addition to all the other standard luxury and safety standards oulined in the previous models, you’ll find yourself cruising the fast lane in style.
