2002 Nissan Altima Overview

The new 2002 Nissan Altima is an elegant combination of luxury and high performance in a four-door sedan. Each vehicle has a seating capacity of five passengers in a well-appointed interior, with extensive comforts and conveniences.

Four models are available this year - Altima 2.5 Sedan, Altima 2.5S Sedan, Altima 2.5SL Sedan, and Altima 3.5 SE Sedan. A wide variety of options are available to suit your individual driving requirements.

At the start of the pack, the Nissan Altima 2.5 Sedan features a 2.5-litre, variable timing DOHC, 16-valve, four-cylinder engine that reaches 175 horsepower and 181 lbs-ft of torque. With its five-speed manual transmission, it reacts quickly and quietly to acceleration.

Each of these front wheel drive vehicles are equipped with power-assisted vented front and rear disc brakes, and sixteen-inch steel wheels with covers. Automatic transmission is available as an option.

When it comes to luxuries, the Nissan Altima 2.5 Sedan boasts standards such as power windows, and power door locks. The rear seat conveniently splits and folds down to create more space for extra luggage and gear.

Of course, safety is never overlooked at Nissan and the Altima 2.5 Sedan is no exception to the rule. Basics include a driver depowered air bag, passenger depowered air bag, child safety locks, and immobilizer system.

The Nissan Altima 2.5S Sedan rolls all the features above into one package, with added benefits like color-keyed dual power outside mirrors, keyless entry system, and steering wheel mounted cruise control.

The list continues with an eight-way adjustable driver’s seat, and the addition of an AM/FM stereo with CD player with six speakers for a fine clarity of sound. ABS brakes are optional.

Third in line, the Nissan Altima 2.5SL Sedan gets you sixteen-inch aluminum alloy wheels, a convenient cargo net, sporty leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an eight-way power adjustable driver’s seat. The audio system has been upgraded to include a six-CD changer with eight speakers.

Crowning the line up, the Nissan Altima 3.5SE Sedan features a boost to a 3.5-litre, 24-valve, variable timing DOHC, six-cylinder engine that hum to the tune of 240 horsepower and 245 lbs-ft of torque. The sport-calibrated suspension makes for improved overall handling, especially in tight corners.
