2002 Nissan Sentra Overview

One of the fiercest competitors in its class, the new 2002 Nissan Sentra Sedan crams a lot of value into its package. It is a perfect vehicle for a myriad of uses from family car to individual transportation. Two models are available this year: Sentra XE Sedan and Sentra GXE Sedan, both with four doors and a seating capacity of five.

Starting off with the Nissan Sentra XE Sedan, the performance specifications include a zippy 1.8-litre DOHC, 16-valve, four-cylinder engine with variable valve timing. These factors combine to produce 129 horsepower and 129 lbs-ft of torque.

The Sentra XE Sedan is equipped with front disc and rear drum brakes, fourteen-inch wheel covers and tires, and five-speed manual transmission. Automatic transmission is available as an option. The fuel economy rating is 27/35 (city/hwy).

As for comforts and conveniences, the Sentra XE Sedan features options such as air conditioning and an AM/FM stereo with CD player and four speakers. A variety of other handy interior features come as standards to round out the package nicely.

Nissan covers all the bases when it comes to safety. In addition to excellent design aimed at minimizing the effects of an impact, the Sentra XE Sedan is armed with a driver depowered air bag, passenger depowered air bag, three-point seatbelts at all seating positions, and child safety locks.

The Sentra GXE Sedan also features a remote keyless entry system, 60/40 folding rear seats for extra gear, and an AM/FM stereo with CD player. A premium audio system with seven speakers is available as an option. Side impact air bags are also important optional features.
