In a market flooded with all sorts of choices for your new van, the 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette Passenger Van stands out not only for it safety and performance specifications, but especially for luxuries.

In keeping with the traditional Oldsmobile reputation for showering drivers and passenger alike with comfort and joy, the Silhouette is packed with standard amenities. Three models are offered for the year 2002 - the Silhouette GL Passenger Van, Silhouette GLS Passenger Van, and Silhouette Premiere passenger Van.

The seven-passenger Oldsmobile Silhouette GL passenger Van features a seating capacity of seven, a six-way power driver’s seat, and a handy 50/50 split folding third row seat. Some of the standard luxuries listed include air conditioning, cruise control, and a keyless entry system.

Continuing even further, conveniences and amenities to be found inside include power door locks, power windows, and an AM/FM stereo with CD player. The exterior beholds dual power outside mirrors, a rear wiper and rear defroster. A theft deterrent system keeps an eye on the vehicle when you can’t.

In the safety category, the Oldsmobile Silhouette GL Passenger Van features standard front fog lights, ABS brakes, and optional traction control. Passengers are protected by front and rear head restraints, side impact air bags, a driver depowered air bag, and a passenger depowered air bag. Child safety locks have been installed in the rear.

Under the hood, the front-wheel drive Silhouette GL Passenger Van packs a 3.4-litre, six-cylinder engine with center of vee camshaft, sequential port fuel injection system, 185 horsepower, and 210 lbs-ft of torque for terrific acceleration and power up hills. The feul economy rating is estimated at 19/26 (city/hwy).

Standard transmission is four-speed automatic, and each vehicle sports all-season touring SRR tires.

Moving along to the Oldsmobile Silhouette GLS Passenger Van, it is a mirror image of the previous model in every way but adds traction control to the standard deal for increased confidence and control on the road. It is also graced in its interior with the luxury of supple leather seating and wood grain accents.

At the top end of the 2002 line up, the Oldsmobile Silhouette Premiere Passenger Van spiffs up the previous package even more with the addition of an on-board entertainment system with pull-down color monitor and hook-ups for video games.
