2003 Chrysler Town & Country
The Chrysler Town & Country brings luxury status
to the minivan segment. That alone should give prospective
buyers an indication of what the Town & Country
offers. In short, there is an exceptional amount of
power and performance, coupled with a very high level
of comfort that results from the abundance of standard
features that line its interior.
For 2003, Chrysler will offer even more available luxury
amenities on its ultimate minivan, including a power
sun roof, factory-installed DVD entertainment system
and power adjustable pedals. And there certainly isn't
a selection shortage, as a total of seven models are
offered: Town & Country eL, Town & Country eX,
Town & Country LX, Town & Country LXi, Town
& Country Limited, Town & Country LXi AWD (All-Wheel
Drive), and Town & Country Limited AWD.
Under the Hood
These minivans can get up to power with ease and hold
the level without as much as a hum of complaint. LX
and eL models come equipped with a 3.3-liter V6 engine
that provides 180 horsepower. The rest of the lineup
has a 3.8-liter V6 that pumps out 215 horsepower (optional
with LX and eL models). Both engines team with 4-speed
automatic transmission.
Safety is given top priority with the 2003 Chrysler
Town & Country. Among the features that address
this are driver and passenger airbags with multi-stage
inflators, a front seat belt system with pretensioners
and constant-force retractors, head injury protection
for occupants in all seating positions and stiff body
structure for added impact resistance.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
The Town & Country leads the minivan class with
a multitude of segment-first features, including a removable,
powered center console, a power sliding door obstacle
detection system for opening and closing, a three-zone
automatic temperature control system, a pop-up rear
cargo organizer, split 50/50 roller rear seats and radio
frequency controlled-wireless headphones. As one would
expect, there are quite a few additional standard features,
all of which find their peak in the top-line Limited
edition.
The available DVD entertainment system keeps passengers
busy for hours. Perfect for long trips, it features
a flip-down seven-inch diagonal liquid crystal display
(LCD) screen and an in-dash DVD unit that plays both
DVDs and CDs. In addition, a wireless remote control
and two sets of wireless headphones are part of the
package.
Luxury is mixed in with all the practical features
essential to a minivan with the 2003 Chrysler Town &
Country.
