2003 Dodge Viper reviews and buying guide.

2003 Dodge Viper resources:

2003 Dodge Viper

The Dodge Viper is one of those cars that you really don't have to say much about. It is America's high-performance champ, the type of vehicle that mothers don't want their sons driving. All you have to do is take a glance at what results from the Viper's unbelievable 500-horsepower engine: performance targets of 0-60 mph in less than four seconds; a top speed of 190 mph; 60-0 braking in less than 100 feet; 0-100-0 mph in 13.2 seconds and 1.15g lateral acceleration.

Every facet of the 2003 Viper follows the maxim of high-octane performance. It features competition-tuned independent suspension, huge tires and wheels for maximum grip, oversized brakes for stopping power, a big-block 505 cubic-inch engine driving the rear wheels and a two-seat cockpit. The 2003 Viper is available in a new SRT-10 two-door convertible configuration.

Under the Hood

Without further ado, here are the specs. The engine responsible for the Viper's ridiculous power is an 8.3-liter V10 (yes, that's right - V10) that pumps the 500 horsepower out at 5600 rpm and delivers 525 lb-ft of torque at 4200 rpm. 6-speed manual transmission lets drivers feel the power surge up through their hands.
The 2003 Viper features a multitude of new features to increase performance levels from last year. An aluminum suspension system has been revised to give the Viper a smoother ride, while its weight has been decreased by 100 pounds. For safety, the Viper has dual front airbags, antilock 4-wheel disc brakes and an emergency inside trunk release.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

The 2003 Viper has a new roofline profile with an easy-to-operate drop top. The clamshell top has a single center latch to make it a true convertible. Comfort comes standard with power, as the interior of the Viper is decked out with an array of features. Air conditioning, power steering, tilt leather-wrapped steering wheel, power-adjustable pedals, leather/faux-suede upholstery, front bucket seats, center console, power mirrors, windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, AM/FM radio with 6-disc CD changer, digital clock and tachometer are all provided.

The 2003 Dodge Viper also features a traditional push-button starter that fires up the mammoth engine. Quite simply one of the fastest vehicles you'll find on city streets, the 2003 Dodge Viper has more power than you will ever need.
