2003 GMC Yukon Denali
The GMC Yukon Denali affixes the term 'premium' to
its full-size SUV title, and customers curious to know
what sort of attributes a vehicle has to have to achieve
this rank need only take a peek at what the Denali offers.
The Denali takes the Yukon and heaps on comfort, refinement
and performance features in abundance. It is designed
for stylish driving, with that added snarl that comes
with an SUV's capabilities.
The Denali has enough room to fit eight passengers
within its lush confines. All-wheel drive is standard,
as are many of the features that are available as options
on other Yukon models. Two of these impressive features
include the StabiliTrak stability enhancement system
and eight-button steering wheel controls with memory
and links to the OnStar system. In effect, the Denali
is a fully loaded Yukon with an added measure of grace
and confidence.
Under the Hood
The Denali's standard engine is strong, efficient and
more environmentally safe for 2003. It is a Vortec 6.0-liter
V8 with 320 horsepower, coupled with 4-speed automatic
transmission. Autoride suspension and load-leveling
rear suspension create a smooth ride over any surface.
For safety, the Denali is well equipped with HydroBoost
hydraulic power, four-wheel disc, four-wheel antilock
brakes with dual piston calipers, Dynamic Rear Proportioning
and brake proportioning differential valve. An advanced
dual-level occupant sensing airbag system, positioned
inside Denali's heavy-duty construction, also adds to
passenger security.
StabiliTrak provides exceptional handling. The system
moves the vehicle where the driver points it, responding
to understeer or oversteer in mere tenths of a second.
It compares the driver's intended path with the vehicle's
actual path, and selectively adjusts engine torque and
any of the four brakes to help bring the vehicle back
under control.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
Everything you can want in a full-size SUV comes with
the 2003 Denali. The number of features are too long
to list, but a highlight reel peek should be enough
to give an idea of the comfort this premium SUV offers:
cruise control, XM Satellite Radio, OnStar system with
one year service, leather upholstery, 10-way power front
bucket seats with driver-seat memory, heated front and
second-row seats, high airflow tri-zone automatic climate
control and upgraded Bose AM/FM/cassette with in-dash
6-disc CD changer.
Since most features are standard, there isn't much
need for options. However, the Denali does offer a few,
such as a passenger DVD system with 7-inch flip down
screen.
GMC is devoted almost entirely to producing full-size
performance vehicles, so it's no surprise they get everything
right with the top-line Denali.
