2003 Honda CR-V reviews and buying guide.

2003 Honda CR-V resources:

2003 Honda CR-V

The 2003 CR-V is Honda's compact sport-utility vehicle, rounding in for a second year of duty. The new CR-V boasts more standard features, more power, enhanced safety technology and better all-around utility for an entry-level SUV. For 2003, the CR-V is available in well-equipped LX, LX 4WD, and EX 4WD trims.

The versatility of the CR-V is designed for adventurous owners who need an SUV for a number of different uses, and who don't want to be held back by unnecessary hassles. The 2003 CR-V's spacious interior seats five comfortably and provides more standard comfort features. With its exclusive fold-and-tumble rear seats stowed, the CR-V now has enough space to accommodate two full-size mountain bikes.

Under the Hood

The CR-V is powered by a 2.4-liter, 16-valve, DOHC 4-cylinder, i-VTEC engine. It uses Variable Timing Control to produce 160 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. Even though the 2003 CR-V offers a more powerful, quicker-accelerating powertrain, it still gets 22/26 mpg (city/hwy).

The CR-V uses a 4-wheel independent suspension system. It features a Toe Control Link MacPherson Strut suspension in the front for outstanding handling, ride and packaging, with a reactive compact double wishbone system in the rear. For safety, the 2003 CR-V provides dual-stage driver's and front passenger's airbags, standard side airbags on EX models (available on LX models) and front seatbelts with load limiters and buckle pre-tensioners.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

Style meets functionality within the CR-V. All models feature dual power mirrors, windows and door locks, intermittent front and rear window wipers and washers, air conditioning, cruise control, two-texture seating surfaces and a sunglass holder. The LX trim with 4WD provides an AM/FM/cassette/CD player with four speakers, while the EX trim adds an AM/FM/cassette/6-CD changer with six speakers, a power moonroof and rear privacy glass.

The designers and engineers of the 2003 CR-V went to great lengths to introduce the highest level of innovative features, amenities and performance. Not surprisingly, they achieved that goal.
