2003 Honda Odyssey reviews and buying guide.

2003 Honda Odyssey resources:

2003 Honda Odyssey

The Honda Odyssey combines a class-leading 240-horsepower engine with spaciousness, comfort and the kind of quick handling that is uncommon in a minivan. Sure-footed and dependable, the Odyssey uses trademark Honda engineering to ensure a long and fruitful life. The Odyssey is also safe, having earned a quadruple 5-star rating for frontal and side-impact protection from the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration.

The Honda Odyssey has dual sliding side doors and three rows of seating to hold up to seven passengers. For bulky goods, the third row can be folded flat to the floor. With LX, EX and leather-upholstered EX-L models available, the 2003 Odyssey also features a diverse lineup.

Under the Hood

All 2003 Honda Odysseys come equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that pumps the 240 horsepower out at 5500 rpm and delivers 242 lb-ft of torque at 4500 rpm. A smooth-shifting 5-speed automatic transmission gets the minivan up to speed quite quickly. The fuel rating for 2003 is 18/25 mpg (city/hwy).

The Odyssey has a 4-wheel independent suspension system that results in a stable ride. All models feature traction control, dual front airbags, front side airbags and 4-wheel antilock disc brakes. In addition, the Odyssey's shell body is reinforced with front and rear crush zones and sturdy steel side-impact door beams.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

The ride is always going to be comfortable inside the Honda Odyssey. Entry-level LX models feature front and rear air conditioning, cruise control, cloth upholstery, a height-adjustable driver seat, a center console, cupholders, power mirrors, windows and door locks, an AM/FM/cassette, a digital clock, a tachometer and more. EX models add an 8-way power driver seat with lumbar adjustment, remote keyless entry, automatic climate control, an AM/FM/CD player, steering-wheel radio controls, a universal garage-door opener and roof rails.

At the top of the line, the EX-L model provides heated front seats for those cold winter days. EX-L models can also have a rear-seat DVD entertainment system installed at the factory, which provides a ceiling-mounted LCD screen, remote control and wireless headsets.

The 2003 Honda Odyssey is designed for families who want a comfortable ride, a healthy amount of power and the peace of mind that comes with durability.
