2003 Honda S2000

The Honda S2000 is coming off a banner year, as 2002 saw the roadster make Car and Driver Magazine's list of "10 Best Cars" for the third consecutive year. A two-door with a power soft convertible top, the S2000 is a sports car that boasts an engine with the greatest output of any normally aspirated production vehicle on the road today. In laymen terms, this car can really move.

The freedom to feel the wind whish through your hair as you drive is only one of the many appealing features of the Honda S2000. And if that's not your bag, a removable hardtop is available. Either way, owners will enjoy the advanced road manners of the S2000, which handles the way a sports car should.

Under the Hood

The engine responsible for the Honda S2000's performance is a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder model that offers 240 horsepower at 8300 rpm and 153 lb-ft of torque at 7500 rpm. Capable of going from 0-60 in under six seconds, the S2000 also provides a good fuel rating of 20/26 mpg (city/hwy). Its 6-speed manual transmission features a high capacity clutch for easy shifting.

An electric-assist power steering system lets drivers control the S2000 with razor-sharp precision. The S2000 has an optimum 50/50 weight distribution, racing-inspired in-wheel double wishbone suspension and stiff body structure. Highlighted by a high central tunnel in the cockpit, which also serves as the backbone of the vehicle, the S2000's "X-bone frame" provides enhanced bending and torsional rigidity. For safety, the S2000 has dual front airbags, antilock 4-wheel disc brakes and an emergency inside trunk release.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

The 2003 Honda S2000 looks and feels like a sports car. With an interior designed after a Formula One racer, it features a driver-oriented control layout with a digital instrument panel and engine start button. The S2000 is equipped with the following standard features: air conditioning, interior air filter, power steering, leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, leather upholstery, bucket seats, center console, cupholders, power mirrors, power windows, power door locks, remote keyless entry, AM/FM/CD player, digital clock, tachometer, intermittent wipers and rear defogger.

If you want heart-stopping performance with a sleek-looking design, you need look no further than the 2003 Honda S2000.
