2003 Volkswagen Cabrio reviews and buying guide.

2003 Volkswagen Cabrio resources:

2003 Volkswagen Cabrio

The 2003 Volkswagen Cabrio maximizes the thrill of open-air driving, all the while providing for each of the less glamorous features vital in a durable and dependable vehicle. Affixed with the Volkswagen logo, the Cabrio is instantly recognizable as a solidly engineered car, high on safety and tough on the competition.

The 2003 Cabrio has two doors and comes in three trim levels: GL, GLS and GLX. All three models feature an easy-to-use fully padded convertible top withdefoggable rear glass window. With theuplevel GLX trim, the top is power operated (optional with GLS models).

Under the Hood

Volkswagen engineering is renowned the world over. Efficiency and performance are the two mainstays that come standard with all Volkswagens, and the Cabrio is no different in this regard. The engine driving the Cabrio is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder model that generates 115 horsepower and 122 lb-ft of torque. Customers can choose between 5-speed manual transmission and 4-speed automatic with adaptive “fuzzy logic” shift points.

Sharp handling is another key feature of the sportyCabrio, made possible by a highly functional power rack-and-pinion steering system. Damping the bumps on the road is an independent suspension system that features a solid front stabilizer bar. Like other Volkswagens, safety is thoroughly addressed with the 2003 Cabrio. It has antilock brakes, dual front airbags and dual side airbags.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

Along with the fun of a convertible top, the Cabrio comes loaded with standard features, regardless of the trim level. CFC-free air conditioning, front and rear carpetedfloormats and an instrument cluster that includes speedometer, tachometer, odometer, trip odometer, coolant temperature gauge, fuel gauge, gear indicator (if equipped with optional automatic transmission), warning lights and a digital clock are just some of the features.

To increase listening pleasure, owners of the 2003 Cabrio can opt for a trunk-mounted 6-disc CD changer. Other optional equipment is readily available as well.

The 2003 Volkswagen Cabrio lets you enjoy both open-air driving and precision engineering.
