Used 2004 Acura TL
Buying Guide for the Acura TL:
The best-selling car from Honda’s premium division just got
even better. 2004 sees the TL roll off the line with more
power, a fresh style and more safety features than ever before.
Acura is surely planning to capitalize on the TL’s popularity,
hitting the wave right at its peek with this fine interpretation
of the TL legacy.
Leading the automotive industry is nothing new for the Acura
TL, and it is a position that the sedan clearly doesn’t feel
like relinquishing anytime soon. To this end, the 2004 TL
is equipped with a mighty 270-horsepower engine, plus the
first automotive application of Surround Sound with DVD-Audio.
The dimensions of the 2004 Acura TL also change slightly.
Though the TL has the same wheelbase as before, it is 6.3-inches
shorter in overall length. However, this doesn’t compromise
any of the interior dimensions. In other words, it continues
to be as roomy as before.
Under the Hood
The TL ushers in a new level of performance with its new
24-valve, 3.2-liter V6 engine. In place, it gives the TL 270
horsepower at 6200 rpm and 238 lb-ft of torque at 5000 rpm.
There are two transmission types offered: a 6-speed manual
setup and a 5-speed automatic setup. The automatic configuration
offers a manual-shift feature for added driving fun.
Four-wheel independent suspension means the TL handles the
bumps of the road with ease. An advanced antilock braking
system works with 4-wheel disc brakes and a special brake
assist feature to provide quick, responsive stops.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
Also bolstered for 2004 is the safety package of the TL.
It now has an antiskid system, front side airbags and curtain
side airbags.
There is only one TL model, but that’s all you need. Leather
upholstery with heated front seats, an aluminum interior trim
and a sunroof are standard. Another new feature for 2004 is
Acura's HandsFreeLink, which employs the audio system as a
hands-free, wireless link to any cell phone in the vehicle.
Satellite radio comes standard for 2004 as well. The new
audio system that plays CDs and DVD-audio discs uses a 225-watt,
8-speaker Surround Sound setup. It has a 6-disc changer for
hours listening pleasure.
A navigation system with voice command is optional. It responds
to as many as 293 pre-programmed commands.
