Used 2004 Kia Sedona
Buying Guide for the Kia Sedona:
Kia’s minivan mimics other models from the manufacturer in
one key area: value. It comes with a nice array of standard
features, a reliable powertrain and enough safety items to
keep everyone secure, and it does it all at a nice price.
When one learns that the Sedona is quite inexpensive, it
shouldn’t come as too much of a shock. After all, the Kia
brand essentially stands for high-value content. Browsing
through a Kia lot is something like shopping at a Wal-Mart.
Sedona models get a new front grille for 2004, altering their
overall look slightly. Also, LX models receive a standard
center tray table. It was previously standard on EX models
and optional on LX trims.
One thing you can’t forget with any Kia model is the quality
guarantee. Kia is owned by Hyundai and duplicates Hyundai's
warranty: 5-years/60,000-mi. bumper-to-bumper, 10/100,000
powertrain, and 5-years/unlimited roadside assistance
Under the Hood
2004 Kia Sedona models house a 3.5-liter, 24-valve V6 engine.
It is teamed with a 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.
The result is an impressive 195 horsepower at 5500 rpm and
218 lb-ft of torque at 3500 rpm.
With close to 200 horses under its hood, the Sedona doesn’t
fall off the pack in any way when dealing with highway traffic.
For 2004, the Sedona receives a fuel rating of 16/22 mpg (city/highway).
Both base LX and uplevel EX models have power steering with
a tilt feature on the steering wheel. This lets drivers of
different heights adjust the wheel to their preference. EX
models also feature fog lights and automatic headlights.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
The Sedona is quite a spacious minivan. In fact, when compared
to the Dodge Caravan, the Kia Sedona is almost two inches
longer. The 2004 Sedona provides seating for up to seven,
with a second-row bench seat and a third-row split folding
seat.
Safety is very important to minivan shoppers, and Kia realizes
this. The Sedona received a five-star rating from the National
Highway Traffic Safety Administration for its comprehensive
security package.
Uplevel EX models have such features as an 8-way power driver
seat with power lumbar support, a 4-way power passenger seat,
heated power mirrors and an AM/FM/cassette/CD player.
For 2004, some of the available options include antilock
brakes, leather upholstery, a rear spoiler and a tow hitch.
