Used 2004 Nissan 350Z

Buying Guide for the Nissan 350Z:

The Nissan 350Z is one of the sleeker sports cars on the road these days. You instantly recognize the 350Z as it passes by, which it usually does quite easily with a 287-horsepower engine. What you may not recognize is the new 350Z—a smooth convertible.

The new Z Roadster convertible uses a power soft cloth top and a heated glass rear window, as well as a rigid tonneau and wind deflector. Unlike the 350Z coupe, the Z Roadster is only offered in Enthusiast and Touring trims.

Both models share a chassis with the G35 sedan and coupe from Nissan's Infiniti division. Other new features for the 2004 Nissan 350Z include an expanded options list.

Under the Hood

The 350Z is built to perform. Its engine is a 3.5-liter V6 with continuously variable valve timing. The result of this advanced powertrain is an ability to get 287 horsepower at 6200 rpm and 274 lb-ft of torque at 4800 rpm.

6-speed manual transmission and 5-speed automatic are offered for 2004. The manual model uses a setup that includes close-ratio gearing from first to fifth gears, and a tall overdrive sixth. The automatic system, for Enthusiast and Touring models only, has a manual shift mode.

The 2004 350Z also features limited-slip differential, which distributes power to the rear wheel with the most traction. An aluminum suspension means the 350Z is lightweight, strong and has a quick reaction time.

Track models are at the top of the line for a reason. One of their finer points is a Brembo brake configuration. It consists of rotors that measure over a foot in diameter, four-piston calipers and a cooling air management system.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

The 350Z’s style is self-evident. Whether it’s the coupe or the new Z Roadster convertible, you’ve got a model that is sure to turn heads.

The two-seat 350Z focuses mainly on driving dynamics, but it doesn’t completely neglect interior comfort. This is especially so once you move into the realm of the Touring and Performance trims. They offer such things as leather upholstery, heated seats, a 4-way power driver seat, heated power mirrors and a Bose audio system with an in-dash 6-disc CD changer.

Some of the available options for 2004, depending on the model, include a navigation system, satellite radio and ventilated-net seat inserts.
