Used 2004 Toyota Sienna

Buying Guide for the Toyota Sienna:

The Sienna is just one of the many Toyota vehicles that is redesigned for 2004. This year’s model is bigger, safer, more comfortable to ride in and newly restyled. In other words, the 2004 Toyota Sienna is the best minivan ever offered by the manufacturer.

Noticeably bigger this year, the Sienna now offers more interior room, and it has a more dominant silhouette on the road. The minivan grows 5.1 inches in wheelbase, 6.5 inches overall, 3.9 inches in width and gains nearly 200 lbs. It’s almost as if the Sienna hit a growth spurt in the off-season.

Prudently, Toyota gives the 2004 Sienna a stronger engine to accommodate its increased size. The new powertrain jumps up 20 horsepower—one for every ten pounds of gain—and that’s more than enough to get you moving quickly.

Under the Hood

The specs of the new engine are as follows: a dual-overhead-cam 3.3-liter V6 with 230 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 242 lb-ft of torque at 3600 rpm. Standard with all models is a new 5-speed automatic transmission (replacing last year’s 4-speed system). In addition, the shift lever is now on the lower-center dashboard.

Front-wheel drive is the standard, but all-wheel drive is available on all models but the entry-level CE. The AWD system also comes with run-flat tires.

All Siennas have antilock 4-wheel disc brakes with brake assist, a tire-pressure monitor and a standard 3500-lb tow package.

The top-line XLE Limited model easily provides the safest ride. It comes with front side airbags, curtain side airbags and high-intensity headlights. In addition, it features a front and rear obstacle detection system.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

There are literally dozens of options packages provided with this year’s Sienna. Each trim is offered with numerous specific groups that upgrade the comfort, safety and style of the ride.

Standard features for all include power windows for the dual sliding side doors. XLE and Limited models have dual power doors and a power liftgate.

All models also come with second-row bucket seats for seven-passenger seating. CE and LE trims can carry eight passengers via an optional second-row bench whose middle section is sized for a child safety seat. The standard 60/40 split third-row bench seat folds into the floor.
