What 2020 Chevrolet Spark Trim Level Should you Buy? What is the Difference Between Trims?

The Chevrolet Spark range has had a variety of benefits since its initial debut, with the majority of these being driven by its relatively small size compared to other vehicles in its class. While this has offered drivers quite a significant number of advantages, which can be seen in its fuel economy and handling, it also has a variety of negative traits.

Some of the more notable of these have been a lack of space compared to similarly-sized vehicles and much less horsepower than may be expected, which is something that many enthusiasts may be wary of. Despite this, the range has predominantly been reliable and cost-effective, which looks to be the case with the 2020 Chevrolet Spark.

While the previous generation of the vehicle was well-received for a variety of reasons, the new Spark looks to improve on this in a variety of ways. Though there hasn’t been many significant changes to the previous edition of the vehicle, there has been a variety of tweaks and changes that many drivers could take advantage of.

Though the vehicle doesn’t offer much space in the rear seats, there’s quite a significant amount of comfort to take advantage of in the front. This is an aspect that many potential buyers could be pleasantly surprised by, given the relatively compact size.

Alongside this, the 2020 Chevrolet Spark offers a somewhat attractive exterior. Though not the best-looking vehicle available in its class, it can be more visually appealing than many others. There are also a variety of interior features to take advantage of, many of which could be somewhat surprising, especially given that the majority of these come as standard.

What could make these features even more surprising is the relatively low price of the Chevrolet Spark, with this being one of the more affordable cars in its niche. As such, the majority of potential drivers should be able to take advantage of a cost-effective vehicle with a large number of features.

This extends to the variety of trims that are available for the 2020 Chevrolet Spark, with four of them being on offer. While there are a significant number of differences between each of these trims, there are also a large number of similarities.

One of the most significant commonalities between them is the engine that’s available with them, with this being a 1.4-liter that operates on four cylinders and offers slightly less than 100 horsepower.

Despite this, there are a large number of differences between each of these trims, which could make a choice between them somewhat tricky. Further compounding this is the fact that each 2020 Chevrolet Spark trim offers either a manual or CVT transmission, which could make the decision somewhat confusing.

As such, there could be a variety of things that many potential buyers will need to know before buying. There are quite a large number of differences between the 2020 Chevrolet Spark trims that drivers should know about before making their decision.

Compare the 2020 Chevrolet Spark LS Vs 1LT Trim Levels.  What’s The Difference?

With the 2020 Chevrolet Spark LS coming in at a relatively affordable cost, many potential buyers mightn’t realize how many features come as standard with the vehicle. While there aren’t as many as drivers may find with many of the vehicle’s competitors, there’s also quite a significant difference in cost between them.

The majority of these focus on functionality rather than overall comfort, so drivers may end up compromising on a variety of other aspects. Despite this, there are a variety of factors beyond the price tag that may draw in a buyer.

The first of these is a traction control system that includes both ABS and driveline, both of which could be quite attractive when utilized separately. As a result, having them in conjunction could be quite a notable benefit for many drivers. Alongside this is the front-wheel-drive, which provides a large amount of handling for many owners.

While the exterior of the 2020 Chevrolet Spark LS mightn’t be the most attractive, there are a few areas that many drivers might appreciate. One of the largest of these is the 15-inch steel wheels, which provides somewhat of a stylish highlight to the overall car.

Alongside this are a few interior features that many people may be drawn toward. Prominent among these is the cloth seating, which provides a certain amount of style for the vehicle’s interior while also adding a certain amount of comfort.

There’s also the fact that the front of the 2020 Spark LS offers much more space than many people would suggest. As a result, the majority of drivers will be pleasantly surprised by the extra head- and leg-room that they’ll have on offer, which also extends to the front passenger. While the rear seat may be somewhat cramped, it mightn’t lack as much space as many people would believe.

Further improving this comfort is the inclusion of a high-quality air conditioning system, although this is a manual, which could be somewhat of a drawback for many drivers. Despite this, it can be of a higher quality than many people would expect for the price of the 2020 Chevrolet Spark LS.

There are also a few notable infotainment features that come with the new Spark LS as standard and which many people may find appealing. The first of these is a first row LCD monitor, with this being slightly bigger than many people would assume given the Spark’s size.

The last of the infotainment features that the 2020 Chevrolet Spark LS offers is a seek-scan radio. While this is a relatively basic system, it does offer a much higher quality of audio than many people would have thought.

Should a buyer take advantage of the CVT upgrade, then they’ll be able to switch the transmission from the base five-speed manual to a two-speed CVT, which could make for quite a noticeable difference. While this does come at a remarkable cost, the impact that it can have on the LS’s performance could be worth it.

The 2020 Chevrolet Spark 1LT includes all of the features that the manual LS does, although it also has a few notable additions. One that becomes obvious from the start is the wheels, which, although still 15-inches, are now silver aluminum. As a result, they help to accentuate the rest of the vehicle’s features much more than the lower-end trim.

The seek-scan radio has also gotten an upgrade here, with the system now including SiriusXM and Satellite alongside the AM and FM stations that the previous trim had. Some other notable additions here include a remote keyless entry system for all doors, which can be quite an advantage for many people.

To round out the differences, there’s also heated mirrors as standard, and the inclusion of front fog lights, which have a minor impact on the front of the 2020 Chevrolet Spark’s exterior. Similar to the lower-end trim, should a buyer choose the CVT option of the 1LT, then they’ll be getting an improvement in the transmission that mimics that upgrade in the LS trim.

Outside of these, there seem to be very few differences between the LS and 1LT trims. With the price difference between the two being relatively small, however, this is to be expected.

Compare the 2020 Chevrolet Spark 1LT Vs ACTIV Trims.  What’s The Difference?

While the 2020 Chevrolet Spark ACTIV has a somewhat noticeable difference in price from the 1LT Manual, it isn’t as large as many people may have thought. However, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t a few additional features and changes that buyers will be able to take advantage of.

The most evident of these is a change to the overall exterior of the Chevrolet Spark, with the ACTIV look much sportier than its lower-end counterpart. While this can be seen across the entire vehicle, there are a few notable differences between the two trim’s exteriors that may draw potential buyers in.

Perhaps the most notable of these is a switch in wheels, which are now machined aluminum that features painted accents, although they still come in at 15-inches. Alongside these are a few other notable interior changes that may attract a variety of buyers, with the majority of these focused on enhancing the vehicle’s luxury, as well as its sporty feel.

The largest of these is an upgrade in seating materials, with the 2020 Chevrolet Spark ACTIV now including leather seating as standard, which is a noticeable difference from the cloth used in previous trims. This is something that makes the ACTIV level considerably more attractive than the majority of its lower-end trims, which makes it well worth a consideration.

However, this isn’t the only interior feature that comes with the upgraded trim. In contrast, the front passenger and driver seat now includes a heating system. This is spread across both the cushion and the seatback. As a result, there should be a large amount of comfort with the seats, which is especially seen in the winter months.

Alongside this, the inclusion of the heated seating gives the 2020 Chevrolet Spark ACTIV trim somewhat more of a luxury appearance. Like each of the other trim levels, buyers can also take advantage of a CVT option, which switches the base transmission in the vehicle. However, the differences here are mimicked in each of the lower-end trims and don’t add anything else to the car.

Compare the 2020 Chevrolet Spark ACTIV Vs 2LT Trim Levels.  What’s The Difference?

While many potential buyers will expect a large number of differences between the 2020 Chevrolet Spark ACTIV and the 2LT, there aren’t as many as might be wanted. This is predominantly because the majority of changes that are seen in the 2LT trim are seen compared to the Spark 1LT.

Alongside this, it seems as though the ACTIV and 2LT took different roads when improving on the lower-end trim. As a result, both vehicles contain a variety of similarities, such as the heated seating system, which is identical in both trim levels. However, there are a few noticeable differences between the two, which could be enough for many people to consider upgrading from the 2020 Chevrolet Spark ACTIV to the 2LT.

Perhaps the most significant difference seen here is the inclusion of a rear parking assistance program. While this mightn’t be a huge advantage for a car this compact, it still adds a certain amount of value for money when considering it. Since the system doesn’t seem to be available with many of the other models, then this could be enough for many drivers to consider the upgrade.

Alongside this is the inclusion of a leatherette seating material. While this mightn’t be as luxurious as the Spark ACTIV’s leather seats, it’s a noticeable improvement on the 1LT and other base trims. As such, this could help make many drivers make their decision.

The 2LT manual option also features the same wheels as many of the lower-end trims, which is somewhat of a downgrade from the ACTIV, especially considering that both trims are available for approximately the same price.

However, the 2020 Chevrolet Spark 2LT CVT option looks to rectify this issue by adding 15-inch silver aluminum wheels. Naturally, buyers can expect the same adjustment in the transmission with the choice. What many people mightn’t expect with the optional extra, however, is that it also includes the addition of a rear parking assist program.

As a result, the CVT transmission upgrade could be worth the extra cost. Despite the 2LT being an upgrade on the ACTIV, both seem to be available for the same price, so potential buyers should be able to get a large amount of value for their money with either vehicle.

Which Trim to Choose?

With each of the trims that are on offer for the 2020 Chevrolet Spark, many potential buyers may struggle to choose one. However, there are a few noteworthy reasons to either avoid or consider specific trims.

While the base LS may seem as though it’s an affordable option for the majority of drivers, it provides significantly less value for money that you’ll find with the other models. However, this can also be said for the 2020 Chevrolet Spark ACTIV trim, which is one of the more expensive options.

Though there are a few notable reasons to consider this option, these are primarily focused on its looks, and it doesn’t offer much in the way of extra functionality. Instead, the 2LT option may be the more cost-effective choice for the majority of drivers, which is especially true if they consider going for the CVT option. By doing so, buyers should be able to get much of the style seen with the ACTIV while getting a large amount of functionality.
